One-A-Day: Detroit Red Wings

Detroit Red Wings

Oh jeez, the Red Wings.

There is literally nothing bad we can say about the Wings. Literally. Like we would ever. We had some strong words for them seasons before but we've let that go.

No one was surprised that they made it into the play offs. They always do. The Wings run roughshod over the Coyotes despite how loud we cheered against them. They took the Sharks to the brink of elimination and still battled hard.

There were speculation that this would be the year that Nick Lidstrom retired but he heard the cries of 'one more year' from everyone that loves the Wings and hockey in general.

But he didn't and Brian Rafalski did. Uh, what? Did not expect that.

What's so great about the Wings is the fact that no matter who they lose to retirement (like Draper and Rafalski and Osgood) or free agency they will be fine. The Wings will always be fine and dandy and they will always make the play offs.

There's five points just for Nick Lidstrom. We were going to give him a ten alone but remembered that he's a robot so that lowers the hotness factor slightly. And then there's one point for Niklas Kronwall's hair.

Boom.
