Cheating? Yes. Do we care? No. He's had a fantastic couple of days and you can tell that he's the beating heart of the Rangers. They go as he goes. And to see him get a hat trick on Saturday was pretty awesome.

We were thinking of going out with a bang on this roller coaster week of dates but as it turned out, the posts on VDay will be enough of a bang.

This mystery man invites you to come to a yoga class with him. You're surprised that he suggested something like yoga but he's cute so why the hell not? When you're on your mat next to him you totally understand why he took you to a yoga class. It's disturbing how this boy can bend. Of course this date ends up in a heated make-out session back at his place. Duh.

This mystery date picks you up for an evening date. He's wearing cowboy boots and the hat to match. He takes you to this nondescript looking bar and leads you inside. The place is blasting country music and people are dancing in step with each other. There are people lined up to ride the bull and after a few drinks, your date joins the line. He shows impressive skill on the bull and it's safe to say that he gets to at least first base after that performance.

When this mystery man picks you up in the moring, you're surprised to see that he's got his Grandma with him. You make a 'WTF' face. He hands you a coffee and muffin and shrugs. Then the three of you travel the neighborhood trolling for yard sales. Granny is super pumped about this and brings out her roll of quarters to spend. At the first sale, she convinces mystery date that he needs this awful velvet painting of a clown. He buys it with a grimace and you can't stop laughing. You find some little tchotchke and Granny insists on buying it for you and she is so adorable you can't say no. The next couple of sales go on the same way and Granny keeps buying you things. Mystery man thinks it's hysterical and when you're done yard-saleing, Granny gets dropped off and the two of you go out to lunch to continue this date.



Mystery Date #2


This mystery man invites you to his house where his Grandma meets you at the door. She is decked out in grandma-clothes and a cute, frilly pink apron. She greets you with a sly wink, "Well, aren't you pretty!" as mystery man comes up behind her and shoos her back into the kitchen. He explains that both of his grandmas are there and they're cooking dinner for the date. They wouldn't take no for an answer and now the two of them (both in cutesy country aprons) are huddled in the kitchen. Mystery man hands you a glass of wine and then the two of you sit at the counter and watch as the grandmas bicker and cook. When they're done, they leave the two of you alone to enjoy the amazing dinner they made and watch secretly from around the corner. The two of you know where they are but continue on with the date, laughing and talking and enjoying the delicious food. When dinner is over, the grandmas make you two do the dishes and cleanup which isn't a bad price to pay for the dinner.

Today's mystery dates are from the same team and we hope that these don't disappoint. We do our best, we swear!

This mystery man invites you to a picnic with a few of his buddies and their dates. It's in a beautiful park and it's sunny out and his friends are super-friendly. You're wearing your best sundress and sandals as he hands you a beer. Then you watch as he pops his own open with his teeth and you're super impressed. There's potato salad and fried chicken and Jello salad and the plate you fill is overflowing with amazing food. The date ends when the lights come on and the mosquitoes start swarming.

This mystery man invites you over to his place for dinner. But dinner consists of bacon, orange juice and pancakes. There are all kinds of awesome toppings for the pancakes, things like whipped cream and fresh fruit and Nutella etc. And he makes the pancakes while the two of you talk about things and he only burns a few of them. You makes some ridiculously delicious pancakes with the toppings and he laughs when you get whipped cream on your nose. The dates ends when you're so full you can't move and he suggests taking a walk to get the digestion going. So romantic.

A Break In The Action

We interrupt this week's Mystery Dates to bring on the news and links that we've collected over the week.


- Zac Rinaldo was fined $5,000 for two separate incidents in the last game the Flyers had against the Devils.


- Islanders' defenseman Travis Hamonic was hit in the face with a puck and will be out for two weeks from the injury.


- Chuck Kobasew was fined #2,500 for tripping Dan Hamhuis in a game between the Avalanche and the Canucks.


- Brooks Laich was injured in the Capitals game against the Bruins but played the next game. He's a boss.


- Minnesota Wild re-signed Nate Prosser to a two-year contract extension.


- Lindy Ruff took a hit in practice and broke a couple of ribs. He has missed the past two games behind the bench.


- The Flyers have Daniel Briere back after being out with a concussion.


- Oilers rookie Ryan Nugent-Hopkins injured his shoulder again and will be out 7-10 days.


- Owen Nolan officially announced his retirement after playing 18 seasons in the NHL.


- The Blue Jackets re-signed Vaclav Prospal to a one-year contract extension.


- The Islanders re-signed Frans Nielsen to a four-year contract extension.


- Canadiens forward Michael Blunden will be out 4-6 weeks after undergoing knee surgery,


- The Flames re-signed Derek Smith to a two-year contract extension.


- Henrik Sedin was spotted wearing a walking boot and missed practice but he will be in the lineup tonight for the Canucks.


- It's official: the 2013 Winter Classis will be played in Detroit against the Red Wings and the Maple Leafs.


- Mikko Koivu will be back for the Minnesota Wild.


- The Hurricanes are trying to re-sign Tuomo Ruutu before the trade deadline but it's getting a little close.

For this date, he takes you to the drive-in movies. It's a triple-header with a romantic comedy, a cheesy horror movie and the movie that you actually would want to see. You make some awesomely flavored popcorn and he brings the adult beverages and the two of you settle in the front seat of his car ready for some movies. Halfway through the first movie, he turns down the volume because it's so bad and then you guys start replacing the dialogue with your own and making fun of it Mystery Science Theater style.

This date starts out a little omniously. He suggests visiting a psychic and you're like 'WTF' but go along with it. At the psychic shop, she 'divines' that the two of you are madly in love and you guys go along with it. He can't stop grinning at everything she says and you're trying to be serious so he stops almost laughing. In the session she says that the two of you will have many happy years and children but you have to watch out for a dark time in the relationship. After the psychic, he takes you to get ice cream and the two of you laugh about her 'predictions' and make jokes about the entire experience.

These mystery date boys are teammates and the second coming of Shea Weber and Ryan Suter except with a little more attitude.

You know they're bros when you're Google image-searching one of them and every picture has the other in it. Brooooooooooos. We did find a few single pictures. Just a few.

We hope you like dogs because this date is all about the mystery man's pooches. The two of you walk the dogs to the park by his apartment and stop at Starbucks for refreshments. At the park, you guys talk and laugh while the dogs chase each other and their toys around the park. He's sweet and adorable and when the dogs are tuckered out you guys make your way back to his apartment.

This mystery man asks you out and says that you have to dress up nice. Of course you're excited. In your best dress and high heels, you wait for him to pick you up. He's chivalrous and funny. You go to a Japanese restaurant and as the two of you talk, you realize that he's a little bit of an asshole but a funny one so it's okay. After dinner, he gives you this smirk and then asks if he can kiss you.
